New ZAP Launch and New Features

Gm Zappers!

Today is a good day. Forget the Thanksgiving leftovers, we’ve got something far more palatable – a big ol’ product release!

The ZAP Vision

Before we dive into the exact features we’re unveiling today, it might be worth quickly recapping why ZAP exists. We believe millions of normies are going to be onboarded to web3 in the coming months, and we believe it’s going to be meme coins that act as the succulent carrot, pulling the web2 crowd out of their slumber and into the rollercoaster that is crypto. We also believe ZAP is going to be the starting point for the mass pilgrimage, and we're working to make this vision a reality.

For those unimpressed by the flowery language - ZAP’s Vision is to capture the market of millions new crypto users by creating the most fun and simple meme coin trading and launch platform in the world.

We’re going to achieve this vision through a combination of product and marketing. Today’s release is our first in a series of releases that sets our product up for success with web2 customers, while staying exciting for web3 users as well. Let's see how.

Redefined Design

We’ve stripped back absolutely everything superfluous to create a product that is super simple to use. Our brilliant designer, Apollo, has sweated the smallest of details to ensure that trading meme coins is as simple as ordering your favourite book on Amazon (Fooled by Randomness - Nassim Taleb, in case you were wondering).

We’ve gone for a stripped-back web2 app design that should be familiar to normies. Our designs are now also mobile-first, as the majority of users will come to ZAP directly from social apps like TikTok (more on this next week).

We’ll now hand over to Apollo, to explain a few of the finer details of the design we’ve gone with!

Introducing Meme Coin Quests

At ZAP, we’re huge on gamification, both to encourage use of the platform and to enrich user experience. Trading meme coins should be easy, and you should be guided in a fun way towards becoming a pro trader.

You can start completing quests on Monday, including daily quests and weekly rollup quests (we’re keeping things super simple at the start).

Traders will get rewarded with lottery tickets (we’ll explain this in a minute) for doing the following activities

  • Trading certain amount of volume

  • Trading a certain number of times

  • Trading in a certain number of pools

Below you can get a sneak peek of how these quests will look! Again, we’ve prioritised a familiar web2 feel so that normies completely understand what’s going on.

We’ve also put a lot of thought into showing questing context when it matters. Usually you’ll just see a little notification pop up when you advance towards a quest, with a full success screen once you complete one. The idea here is to not make the questing product too intrusive, but striking a balance where questing popups add to the ZAP experience rather than getting in the way.

We’re eager to hear your thoughts—let us know in Discord!

To what end?

Questing isn’t just a way to bring a bit of joy to your trading experience - completing quests unlocks real value.

While we’re going to be iterating on this over the coming weeks, the first release of questing will also include something we’re calling Seasons. At the start, Seasons will last a week, during which you can try and earn as many lottery tickets for completing quests as possible. At the end of the season, we’ll select winners (using on-chain randomness of course) weighted by the number of tickets they hold.

The rewards for the lottery will always be 1% of all tokens that graduated from ZAP in that period, but we’ll also be looking to add other prizes such as tokens, NFTs and more to give our early adopters even more upside for interacting with the ZAP product.

The first season goes live Monday, so at the moment you’ll just see a coming soon screen, but here’s a little video of what you can look forward to.

Hopefully you can see how this release lays the foundation for mass web2 onboarding! In the coming weeks we’re going to be making meaningful progress towards a completely frictionless platform.

Next week we’ll have some boring, but super important news on social sign in and on-ramping.

LFG!
