On-Chain Missions and Major Upgrades 🤝

Gm Zappers,

We’ve made a couple of pretty significant improvements to our on-chain missions, as well as some key performance improvements. Let’s take a look 👀

On-chain missions v2.

One of the most important things when it comes to rewarding communities, is to reward individuals for their on-chain activity. With this release we’ve taken some major steps to cement ourselves as the most advanced no-code platform for rewarding on-chain actions.

Projects can now reward users according to the:

  • Number of interactions

  • Duration

  • Transaction size

This might not mean much, so let’s make it real. Let’s say you are a GameFi project, where users lock up your native $GAME token in order for users to get access to different areas of your metaverse. With ZAP you can now, without any coding, create a mission that will reward users in XP for locking up their tokens, say a minimum of 10,000 and only if they’ve had those tokens locked for 7 days.

If that wasn’t enough, you can even give out variable rewards, meaning you can reward those who are locked for 14 days more than those who are locked for 7.

Of course, it doesn’t just work for staking, you can call any method in your contract, from transactions to staking to creating, using the different ZAP dimensions to create a truly flexible reward system for your users.

We’re pretty gassed about this one, and are already seeing it used in great effect on our Blast Gigadrops Campaign

Subgraph Missions

While of course, we are trying to build the most intuitive no-code platform possible, we also see (and hear from our users!) the limitations of a plug and play interface. A few of our Blast campaign projects were reaching out with some seriously complex requests. What if you want to reward users for interacting with one of a number of different contracts, like Thruster wanted to do? That’s why Kunal has been building away with Subgraph missions.

Subgraph missions can take any subgraph query and condition and reward users according to whether or not they’ve reached that query. All projects need to do is copy and paste the subgraph details into their mission details, and we take care of the rest. The beauty of subgraph, is at it queries the blockchain using GraphQL, you can code up basically any query you want, and get a response, the downside is you do have to write that query, which requires time and technical chops. Still we’ve seen great uptake on this feature with around half of all Gigadrops projects using it.

Performance Improvements

With serious uptake comes serious responsibility. In the last few weeks we’ve 10x’d our active user count, that means more demand on our servers, more throughput, and more potential for issues. Badger, our resident Dev Ops wiz, has taken charge of ensuring even when traffic spikes, the site handles it, delivering a silky smooth experience for our users.

While it would be a little boring to go into all the backend details of what’s been delivered, here a few highlights for (the few of you) who are interested.

  • Dockerised the app

  • Expanded the use of captcha

  • Stress testing

  • More alerts on staging and production environments

All of these fixes have meant 0 downtime through the manic sprint that has been our Gigadrops campaign, with well over 100,000 users thus far.

That’s it for this update!
